I have a ASIS in Early Childhood Education and Development and I was thinking of going ahead with getting a Bachelors, once again I’m not sure in what I would have to get it, and then getting a teaching credential. I always wanted to be a teacher, not of Jr. High or High Schoolers though. So I guess I have some research to do and then determine if I want to spend the next 3 to 4 years doing school again.

So remember I wrote about how one of my professors marked me down for not having a cover page on my project as stated in Unit 1. And I emailed expressing my confusion over the directions and my points deduction. She changed my grade to 195/195 and said she was sorry for her mistake. Kick ass. So I got a 98.4% in the course! WOOHOO!!

I have to wonder what makes a person just stop writing in their blog? I use Stumble Upon to just randomly throw me around to blogs on the internet. It’s really hit and miss. People either don’t update regularly or they just up and stopped one day. It’s like running across a ghost town. And I have to wonder what exactly happens? What makes them not say goodbye? Why do they leave the site up? I mean if you don’t want to do the blog anymore, why leave your information up? One has to wonder, did they pass away? If so why hasn’t the family removed the blog? Perhaps they don’t know of it’s exsistance and now it’s just sitting there, collecting internet dust.

I mean some of the sites I’ve Stumbled upon are as old as 2005. Some on their own domains, meaning someone bought a URL and is maintaining a server somewhere for this blog but it’s sitting doing nothing. Sometimes I’ll see blogs that say they’ve moved just to find that the blog they moved to is dead too.

I should start a list of Ghost Blogs (apparently this has a definition totally unrelated to how I’m using it). Maybe it will prove interesting to try and find what may or may not have happened with the person who wrote the blog.

I’m so glad school is over because I’m tired of requirements being applied to projects that were no where to be found in he directions or on the syllabus. I turned in my final project and should have gotten 100% on it. Instead I get 90% on it because the professor says I forgot to put a cover page on it like the unit 1 directions say. I check unit 1 becuase I don’t remember that at all and believe me I looked and it says “Use this checklist as your cover page.” So now I’m throughly confused because that’s what I did. I check the syllabus it says the same thing. I check the Unit 9 directions and it says the same thing as well. So what am I missing? Apparently some unwritten requirement of her’s although she seems to think it was written down.

So I couldn’t let it pass because that just bothers me when this happens. I copied and pasted all the directions to her and asked her to point out where it said what she thinks it said and to clarify it to me. Me thinks she’s not going to respond. Whatever.

In my Special Needs course I got a 98.9% and in my Career Development course I got a 97.9% (this should have been a 98% as well but not for the fact of that stupid final unspoken requirement).

I don’t know if I posted this yesterday but I finished my finals and completed all the discussion homework and that means if I post two more times today and attend one seminar tomorrow then I’m officially done with school.

Doing the calculations I’ve determined that the lowest GPA I can get is a 3.84 but I will probably go up to a 3.9 by the end of the term. I’ll be graduating with a ASIS in Early Childhood Development and Education, Summa Cum Laude. They’ll send my diploma in six to eight weeks (I hope we’re still living here because if not it wills screw everything up) and they’ll send my honor cords as well then. I still have to buy a tassel though. I’m not buying a gown because why would I need it?

Anyhow I’m happy it’s done. I was getting tired of it frankly. Now I just have to figure something else out to do with my time. I’m going to start using my night time to work for ChaCha because I’d like to make a little extra money. If I get into it I think I could make a couple hundred a month which is good because we just want a little extra spending money. I also am going to start back up with my paid surverys and so forth.

Technically I’m supposed to be finishing my final project and you think I’d be all gunho for it seeing as once I do I’m officially done with school but I’m not. This last semester has been hard to just do the homework and what not. I’ve managed to keep my average in both courses to 98% so that’s good.

I’m taking a small break from my finals though to write this post here for today. I wrote a guest post for Spin Me I Plusate. If you remember I posted below about a person who posted something on Twitter that frankly would have alarmed me whether I had known the person or not. She encouraged her readers to write guest posts for her blog explaining their beliefs and feelings on the situation. And that I did. She posted it today so go check it out.

I’m excited to see the comments. I don’t know if the post made much sense over all but I think it will get some people thinking and we’ll see what they have to say.

This is the best analogy I’ve seen that expresses my views on what is happening in Gaza with Israel.

The DMV sent Brian’s license renewal to an address we haven’t lived in for nearly 5 years. He had to go in and get it renewed after the fact and they sent it to the correct address. What they didn’t do though was change the address apparently because his registration was never sent to us. I checked his car recently to see when it was due and it says Dec. 2008. Great so obviously his registration is not up to date. So tomorrow he’s going to head into the DMV and get it done. I just hate that it means we’re going to have a late fee on the damn thing because of it. I mean seriously how come they are sending crap to the wrong address? We didn’t change our address at all. We got the registration for the car last year at this address. So how does it suddenly change? Stupid DMV.

I’m watching 1408 right now. I have to say I enjoyed this movie. I’m a horror movie buff that’s for sure. I like good ones though, not the hack and slash ones. I mean I think the Jason and Freddie movies are cool but I’m more into the thriller type or the type that don’t involve too much of “ripping people apart” horror. 1408 really focuses around the guy who is staying in the room and the crap he’s been through, a mind thriller mainly. It’s an unseen forces thriller which can frankly freak anyone out. “We’ve only just begun!”

I made French Bread again today. Hopefully this time I made it right. I’m in a baking mood. I think next will be cookies of some sort. I need more kitchen space though for sure to do what I want. Maybe I’ll make cupcakes sometime soon as well.

I was trying to think of things I could make to sell online. I’m not sure what is selling though and whether it would be worth it. Like perhaps if I sold blankets. But I’d need to learn to sew and maybe even knit.

Two more weeks and I’m done with school! WOOOHOOOO!! I’m so ready for school to be over that’s for sure.

Well I already knew about the potential find of Caylee Anthony. I think that situation is all messed up and I don’t understand it at all. Casey is one f*cked up individual for sure and this whole mess is all a ploy for attention. Casey is a person who likes things to focus on her and I truely believe that the only reason Caylee wasn’t murdered long before she was, was because she gained Casey attention. When that attention started to focus more to the child, Casey killed her and not has a whole lot of attention on her. Sad really.

You know how a lot of people believe Canada is a nation without too much strife. Well we were wrong. The Prime Minister up there decided to shut down the government because they were going to kick his butt out. I think it’s interesting that they have the power to do so, but it’s also interesting he has the power to shut down the government in general. To be clear he had to get the approval of like a Sec. General or something and she was the one who really approved it, but the fact that it can be done is just very interesting to me.

Some people are up in arms about the Vatican today. I looked it up and they’ve condemned cloning (which I totally understand because that goes against everything in the Bible) and then condemned stem cell research which shows a complete lack of understanding on their part of what stem cell research is. But it’s not a surprise all around that they did.

I’ve always wondered about Catholicism and why they put any invested interest into the Pope. It seems to me that Catholics don’t have personal relationships with the Lord that some how that is unavailable to them, but rather they use a middle man, the Pope, the Virgin Mary, Saints, etc… to connect with God. And perhaps that’s where Catholicism differs the most from other various denominations of Christianity. We have the ability to go straight to the man Himself, we don’t need to deal with anyone else at all. We all have personal relationships with the Lord. Do Catholics feel unworthy of that personal connection or is it a power hold for the heads of the Church? My opinion is that it’s pure and simple a power hold over the congregation. When you are told that you can’t communicate directly with God and that only this and that person have that ability you’re kind of dependent on them for your faith and what you believe. Now I recognize this may not be how it is these days, but back in the days of Henry VIII it sure was this way and I actually think that Henry did the right thing breaking away from the Church.

Well today we’re heading to get Kaylee’s blood drawn and then we’re going to go to the park. I have a week and a half of school left and then we go on a two week break which allows for more time to work on our finals which is totally kick ass. After the break, two weeks and then I’m officially done with school!

Now I’m in another course, a lower level course that I wasn’t able to take until this term. I turned in a paper, followed the same citations I used for my Capstone, the common citations used within every course for Kaplan and it came back with 198/200 because I supposedly did my citations wrong. Seriously. How is it I can get a perfect score in the hardest class for the degree yet supposedly I did my citations all wrong?

I want consistency in courses. I want them to all have to take a class on citations not follow some stupid manual that they get sent. And if they’re going to follow some stupid manual make sure that those teaching the Capstone are using it. I’m assuming the person teaching the Capstone knew more than the professor teaching the lower level.

It’s just annoying to say the least because I had a perfect grade. It’s like teachers don’t like seeing perfect grades or something.

On a side note I’m hating my stupid career development class. I’m not returning to work. I don’t need to know how to write a stupid resume, I’ve done that for ten years now. I don’t need to know how to network, been there, done that. I don’t need to learn how to search for a job and know my skills, seriously in this day and age who doesn’t know how to do that crap? What a waste of time and money.

My other class no matter how well I did on my final there is no way for me to get under 90% and I’m currently pulling a 98% in the class so that will be good and it will put me on the President List Honors again.

One more term to go and if I pull A’s in those two classes (which would be hard not to) I’ll graduate with high honors and maybe even the highest honors they have.

It would be nice though if I didn’t care. I’d be a lot less stressed out that’s for sure. Hopefully after the election I’ll relax. LOL! I need a vacation.

I’m going to Arizona for Thanksgiving and that probably won’t be a vacation. LOL!! You know what when school ends though I’ll probably be much happier. Hell when this term ends (TWO WEEKS!) I’ll probably be happier. My last two classes are just plain easy. One is a special education class (which is just simply learning alternative teaching methods) and the other is how to write a damn resume. I’m a bit annoyed at having to take it but what can I do it’s a requirement to graduate.

That reminds me I have to work on my finals for both classes. I haven’t even started on one class, can’t even tell you what the final is. LOL!! I’m slacking.

OH! I didn’t mention yesterday in the mail I got my President’s Honor List cert. I didn’t think I made it but of course I did since I got a 4.0 last term. I’ll be getting a 4.0 this term as well. I’m hoping to graduate with high honors!

Question becomes if it’s perfect does it need to be revised?

I thought I was totally off track to say the least with my paper. But apparently I am completely on track so now I feel better. This week I think we have to submit a rough draft of our paper.

On to bigger and better things. Midterms are this week. None of my classes actually have midterms, just one essay and one outline. It means I finally have to get started on the paper. The paper is about Technology and Homeschooling. I have to figure out a title. But basically what I’m going to do is cover the history of homeschooling and how technology has impacted it and then it’s impact on society as a result.

I’m thinking of getting proper Halloween photos done this year of Kaylee. The Picture People are really cool in that you can get like just 3 pictures if that’s all you want. And with coupons sometimes you can get more. I’ve just never done proper Halloween Pictures.
