I never wrote about seeing Paranormal Activity and I figure it’s time I do. Also I’m going to write about The Fourth Kind. If you’re reading this and you haven’t seen these movies, stop reading now (I’m using spoiler tags but the RSS feed may not supposed those.) (more…)
So it was mentioned to me how Tinkerbell managed to put a bunch of Faeries out of work through her inventions. So I got to thinking about the economic ramifications of Tinkerbell’s inventions on Pixie Hollow.
Lets take her painting machine that paints a Ladybug in under 10 seconds. Previous to her invention it took 10 to 15 minutes. Let’s just say it takes ten for our discussion. So in 60 minutes the Faeries would manage to paint 6 Ladybugs. Now with Tinkerbell’s painting invention they can paint 360 of the little suckers in an hour. If my math is any good, which it isn’t, I think that’s a 600% increase in production.
So lets say your production goal is 1000 Ladybugs. Under the old method is could take 166.6 hours for them to meet the 1000 production quota. That’s nearly a week. With the new technology they can now produce 1000 Ladybugs in 2.7 hours. Now this is if only one Faerie was working on the project. To meet the quota of 1000 Ladybugs in 2.7 hours by the old method I believe they would have to have 60 Faerie’s working on the product.
So Tinkerbell has effectively eliminated 59 jobs in Pixie Hollow. And we haven’t even discussed her other inventions.
What does this mean for the poor Faerie’s now out of work? Or do they now just over produce items. Instead of only getting 1000 Ladybugs a year you get 1 million?
I think Tinkerbell has effectively screwed most every Faerie in Pixie Hollow.
So lately Kaylee has been obsessed with the movie Tinkerbell. Luckily a new Tinkerbell movie will be coming out either in October or November.
I just wanted to write a thank you know to those who worked on the Tinkerbell movie. Especially the story writers who decided not to have a character who is trying to kill Tinkerbell.
See I’ve noticed in most every Disney movie someone is either trying to be killed or kidnapped. And frankly this scares the crap out of Kaylee, when there is fighting and so forth.
In Tinkerbell your bad guys are Thisle (sp?) and Vidia who just doesn’t like Tinkerbell for whatever reason. And the most the Thisle can do to a person is scratch their bumm which just causes for more laughs than horror for little kids. And the Vidia story line is more about accepting others and not being jealous and so forth so it’s a good lesson.
So thank you Tinkerbell writers for putting together a movie that won’t send my child to bed having nightmares about. Thank you for putting together a movie that is enjoyable to watch 40 times in one week. Thank you to your music producers for the great sound track they put together as well. Kaylee and I dance to the end credits all the time.
I wish more movies were made like this. I understand the “violence” kind of makes a movie go and makes it interesting but I think the Tinkerbell guys got it right and managed to make a great movie with an interesting plot line without massive amounts of violence. And whatever minor violence may have been in the movie were so minor that the movie comes out more fun and lighthearted than scary.
Hopefully the next movie sticks to a similar concept of non-violence as well. I would think it does. I haven’t seen the trailer but from what I’ve read about it, it’s about an adventure Tinkerbell has to go on to save Fall or something. So hopefully it’s as good as the first was.
So Step-Brothers was hilarious. Now it’s not something a person who is sensitive would watch. It’s hilariously stupid basically and that’s typical of those types of movies. You really have to like the actors and the humor in order to enjoy the movie. Talledega Nights was hilarious and this one was just as hilarious as well. It was a good movie to watch today and a good one to watch if you need a laugh.
Speaking of step-brothers tomorrow we’re going to the UCLA vs ASU women’s softball game which is part of Simi Valley Girls Softball day. We go to almost all of my neices softball games (at least the ones we can make) and I take tons of pictures (you can see them in the My Photos section). We’re grooming Kaylee to play as well. She can start I think at 3.5 or at least at 4 years old.
LOL! I love Star Trek: The Next Generation. Great stuff there. Never understood what the writers were thinking with the first three seasons but hey it got better as it went on and that’s the point. Best Star Trek ever.
I can’t say I actually enjoyed this movie. I think the story line is great, and in itself very thoughtful, but the filming of the movie just ruins it for me. Maybe I don’t understand what the director was getting at filming it this way, or maybe I want to see more of the family dynamics in regards to Kim, Racheal and the death of their little brother and how they’re coping with all of it. The constant movement of the camera and so forth is annoying at best. I guess it’s supposed to make you feel as if you’re there and a part of it. Anyhoot that’s one movie down, two more to go: Stepbrothers and Swing Vote.
