Very Sad Story…

I heard this on FHF and I'm not sure Heidi had the story completely true or maybe she omitted stuff because it really isn't as funny as she made it out to be.

A 4 year old escaped from his home, wandered around the neighborhood, broke into a neighbors home, opened the presents and then hid them, took a beer from the fridge and wandered around more until he was found. (linky)

What wasn't mentioned on FHF was first that no where does it say the boy was sleep walking, but that the boy's father is currently in jail and that the boy has been running away to be with his father and does "bad things" in the hopes of going to jail to be with his father.

How utterly sad is that. The mother says she has door safety locks (you know those ones that go over the knobs) but that he broke it (which doesn't surprise me, they aren't always kid proof) and got out. When she woke up the first thing she noticed was that he was gone. I don't see her as being a bad mommy, stuff like this happens, plus she's divorcing her husband so it sounds like she's trying her best to do the right thing for her kids.

This poor boy though is obviously not coping well with the situation and needs to help to get through this. And I'm sure the mother is going through a lot, she's quoted as saying she feels like a failure. Hopefully though she gets the help she needs with this child so that he doesn't do something like this again.

It's a very interesting and sad story. Not nearly as funny as FHF made it out to be today on their show.

Balloon Boy…

Odd how that name caught on. It started on Twitter I believe.

Anyhow if you've been living under a rock here is the story:

1. Weather Balloon flies loose and family says their 6 year old son, Falcon (aka Balloon Boy) is in the balloon.

2. It flies for like 2 hours sometimes going as high as 7500 ft. Lands gently and no boy inside.

3. Boy is found 3 hours later in the attic at their house hiding.

4. Boy says on TV interview with CNN: "I thought we did this for the show."

So after some investigation and apparently a search warrant being issued, they found proof that this had been planned and was two weeks in the making. Bastards. So the parents are going to turn themselves in for arrest, CPS is investigating and that poor 6 year old who wanted nothing but to tell the truth had to suffer through interview after interview being pushed by his parents to lie (which is why he threw up several times during those interviews).

Obviously these parents aren't very sharp or bright and frankly they scare the shit out of me because how could anyone put their children through that? Through the interviews, asking a 6 year old to lie, and tell big lies, and blame be placed on him, which is why I think he had trouble lying in the first place, they just didn't seem to care what they were doing to him. That poor child.

Honestly I hope those children go to live with more stable family members, ones who put the children first over their want for fame.

What a bunch of fucktards.

Racist!

So apparently Carter called Wilson a racist. I'm not sure how that could have been concluded? The guy shouted "You Lie" at the President, not "Black People Suck!" or something like that. So how is "you lie" a racist comment? Doesn't make much sense. There is racism out there, but this wasn't one of those instances. I think the guy just didn't agree and things get heated sometimes and he said something a bit too loudly. He apologized to the President and it's time to move on.

They’re Out To Get You…

Rod Blagojevich, he's like Jeremy Mayfield. Everyone is out to get him apparently. He has written a book and he's been throwing around all these allegations of wrong doings by others but nothing he can be specific by. The question was asked, "Why? Why would they want to do this." His answer, "I can't speculate on it." So basically you have no reasons why anyone would doing this? Okay....

It's like Mayfield saying that NASCAR is out to get him. Okay. Why is NASCAR out to get you then? Why would NASCAR go after a no-body. It's not like Mayfield is like Jeff Gordon. He was barely hanging on as it was. So why would they go after him?

Usually when I hear these types of arguments without any "reason" to why they'd be set up like that it screams to me GUILTY! I mean in Rod B's case there are tapes. He kept saying, "I want you to hear the tapes but they won't let me release them!" As if the prosecution should allow the defense to release that crap to the public. These trails aren't supposed to be done through media, but rather in a court. He may want to vindicate himself and feels something in there says he isn't guilty but he's going to have to let the trial work that out, not the media. Plus it's not like it would work with how the media is. FOX news would see all of it as proof of guilt and CNN would see it as proof of innocence. So he wouldn't fix anything releasing the tapes anyhow.

I just can't believe he wrote a book! I wonder if his lawyers were okay with him writing the book.

On a side note, notice how none of our kids exploded yesterday and none of them became communist? Who knew?!

Not My Child!

This is the rally cry of some out there that don't want their children to hear a speech from the President on Sept. 8th. I didn't realize he was actually asking schools to broadcast the speech to children but hey why not, sounds pretty cool. But nope the parents of some children out there are up in arms, they don't want the President indoctrinating their children.

Funny, these people send their kids to school, the ultimate of indoctrination. Why do they think school was created? A little research is needed. LOL!

But seriously what is the big problem? Why is it that parents feel it appropriate to shield their children from differing opinions? Is it laziness? Do they not want to have the conversation when their children get home and ask questions? Is that it?

What's most bothersome of all of this is the lack of respect for the President of the United States. These parents are teaching their children to not be respectful of authority figures. These are the same people who believe we should all bow down to what cops want, but the minute the President wants to address their children then screw it and don't show any respect!

I mean come on people, this is the President. I don't care how much you hate the guy, he's due some freaking respect. I didn't like Bush but seriously I wouldn't have been disrespectful and I wouldn't have cared one bit if he had chosen to give a speech to my children about the importance of staying in school. The crap people pull today in regards to the President, the level of disrespect is amazing. People need to grow up.

Is this Christianity…

Often it's not hard to find why some people hate religion in general especially Christianity. Sometimes you hear some of the most out there things in Christianity. Things that are often so contradictory you have to wonder how in the world these people came about these conclusions.

Chris Broughton, the man who brought an assault rifle and a handgun to President Obama's event in Arizona last week, attended a fiery anti-Obama sermon the day before the event in which Pastor Steven Anderson said he was going to "pray for Barack Obama to die and go to hell." [...]

"I don't obey Barack Obama. And I'd like Barack Obama to melt like a snail tonight," Anderson said in the sermon, which was titled "Why I Hate Barack Obama" and also contained virulent anti-gay themes.

"... You're going to tell me that I'm supposed to pray for the socialist devil, murderer, infanticide, who wants to see young children and he wants to see babies killed through abortion and partial-birth abortion and all these different things -- you're gonna tell me I'm supposed to pray for God to give him a good lunch tomorrow while he's in Phoenix, Arizona?

Nope. I'm not gonna pray for his good. I'm going to pray that he dies and goes to hell."

I'm going to address the above using some of the past sermons that Pastor Bruce has done this summer, which focused around what love is and the different types of love that a Christian should have in order to be more like Christ. That's probably a very simple explanation of what he talked about but it's the gist of what I got out of them.

Just read the statement about praying for him. It seems to me that praying for his death, that all the hate, goes against everything that Jesus ever taught. Bruce talked about loving your neighbor, even if you hate them basically. He talked of the story of the Good Samaritan and how loving your neighbor doesn't involve emotions but rather just involves what is right to do as a Christian. And what's right to do as a Christian is be respectful and basically nice no matter how horrible you think people are. Now this doesn't mean you have to associate with people who you feel are "bad" but it just means you're not a nasty bitch to them.  What I want to know is how this Pastor above is teaching that with his hateful expression against the President?

The next guy who just really has me asking, is this Christianity, is the guy who killed George Tiller, who is using Justifiable Homicide as his defense for killing Tiller.

Scott Roeder, 51, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges in the May 31 shooting death of Tiller in the foyer of his Wichita church. The Kansas City, Mo., man has refused to discuss his case, but he has told The Associated Press that Tiller's killing was justified to save "the lives of unborn children."

So let me get this straight? You can disobey Biblical Law, you know the Thou Shalt Not Kill, because you were saving unborn children? It's against the law and against Biblical Law. And forget the fact that this man killed Tiller in his own church. This comes down to the same premise as before, Love Your Neighbor. Loving your neighbor doesn't involve killing them because you disagree with them.

I think what's more scary about the above guy is the belief that you have to the right to kill someone because you disagree with what they do for a living. Tiller wasn't just an abortion doctor as people like to say. He was a OBGYN who happened to be one of the few who performed much needed medical procedures that save women's lives. People call this "partial birth abortions" but if they knew anything about what a "partial birth abortion" was and why it's done they'd shut their ignorant mouths and not use it as a talking point to spread their hate.

The girl next door said she couldn't vote for Obama because of this one issue. I asked her why? She said because babies shouldn't be killed. I asked her if she knew what a PBA was. She said no. I told her to look it up, actually read about what the are and why they're done, not on anti-PBA sites but on medical sites and then get back to me about it. She probably never did look it up, but seriously people PBA's do not happen because a Mom goes in and says they don't want a kid anymore. After 20 weeks that's illegal. PBA's only happen to save the life of the mother. Plain and simple. People want mother's to die (which would result in the babies dying as well) and that makes no sense to me. So they'd rather two living beings die rather than one. How does this make any sense?

But forget that, Tiller was killed for doing something that isn't illegal. Someone took the law into his own hands and killed the man because he didn't like that the law allowed PBA. But you know what, what if I decide tomorrow I don't like the law against stealing money and go rob a bank. Can I say I'm justified because my belief is that I have the right to take money because I need it to survive? Hardly.

This gets me back to the main point of this point. It's people like the above who give Christians a bad name. Sadly the good Christians, the ones who aren't hateful, who help people out, who are good people, don't get the news like the bad ones do. It's really too bad because I don't know many Christians who would agree with the two people above.

Bomb a Plane and go free…

So the big news this week was the release of the Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi because he has terminal cancer. It was an act of mercy from the Scottish government. Frankly I don't understand this at all.

What mercy did this man have for those on the flight he bombed? None and he's not even repentant about it. So frankly I don't understand at all why anyone should have mercy on this bastard at all.

Then add to it the hero's celebration this man received upon returning home. What kind of fucked up people live in Libya that they would celebrate what this man did at all? And to top it off it was approved by the government of Libya. So it's the state saying, "You did well in your killing of innocent people."

So here we have the Scottish saying, "Go ahead go home and die peacefully with your family." and the Libyan government saying, "Good job on your mass murdering."

Can you imagine how the survivors of this whole incident feel? They're basically been victimized again. What mercy did this man show the families of the victims, what choice did he give his victims to get off the plane? None.

Dr. Laura had a teacher email her about a boy she watched grow up without a dad due to this horrible man and asked this question, "Did Abdelbaset give the victims on the flight a chance to go home and die with their families of cancer or die horribly in a blown up plane?" No he didn't. So we shouldn't give him the option to die with family because he didn't allow that option to those he killed.

Screw him he should die a horrible death alone in prison. It's not about compassion, it's about what's right. And you don't show compassion to people who don't show any compassion to those around them.

You know it’s your fault…

STAMFORD, Conn. —A Connecticut hotel where a woman was raped at gunpoint in front of her children says the victim was careless and negligent.

The papers filed last month in Superior Court by the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa say the victim "failed to exercise due care for her own safety and the safety of her children and proper use of her senses and facilities."

Prosecutors say Gary Fricker assaulted the woman in her minivan in the hotel's parking garage in front of her two children, then ages 3 and 5. Fricker is now serving 20 years in prison.

So get this. You're raped. In the parking garage of a secured hotel (or so they say). In front of your children no less. And the hotel says it's your fault.

Now I've been reading additional information and feel this woman will not win her lawsuit for the simple fact of that no one told the hotel of this guy who seemed suspicious hanging around for a few days.

The hotel should have said that they were never alerted to his presence on the property, no one expressed concern, so they couldn't prevent the attack when they weren't alerted to him in the first place.

Instead they go for this insane defence. That somehow a woman with her children was supposed to be a mind reader or see the future and shouldn't have gone to her car. Maybe because she says she noticed the man who raped her three days earlier and didn't bother to alert anyone to the "weird" guy she saw? Perhaps that's what they are referencing because if I saw someone that made me uncomfortable I'd probably not be going back into the parking garage until I knew the guy was dealt with.

From what I gather though this hotel prides itself on it's security. So perhaps that's why she's suing them as well. But I don't think she'll win at all. They have to have notice and since she seems to be the person who noticed him it was her responsibility to notify the hotel. That at the very least was her responsibility. But she didn't. They had no idea the guy was hanging around and you can't prevent what you don't know about.

He’s Right, they acted stupidly…

Seriously people how is this not stupid:

Professor Gates was arrested on July 16, when the police were called to his Cambridge home after a report of a burglary in progress. The professor said he told the police that he lived in the house and that he was jimmying open a damaged front door. Still, the police report said he was arrested for “loud and tumultuous behavior in a public space.”

So you get a call, some black dude with a cane who looks about 80 is breaking into a house. Police show up. Black dude explains what happens, probably is pissed that the police are called in general so he probably isn't nice about it. So what do the police do?

Arrest the man anyhow because he was loud in a public space? Shit can these police please come to my city and arrest all those damn teenagers who are loud in public spaces all the damn time?

Are you shitting me? So some officer got pissy because he didn't like being talked back to probably and arrested the man.

Sure yeah the guy could have been polite and not been pissy with the police but come on what a waste of time, money and energy all over a pissing contest between two men. So yes they acted stupidly.

Did some baking…

FrenchBreadMade French Bread to go with dinner tonight. It looks pretty good. I can never figure out how to get a soft crust unstead of a hard shell but I know either way is fine. It smelled so good.

Also Kaylee went swimming again today. Sadly the pool was a bit cold because I had to drain it and wash it out and it didn't get a lot of sun time before she wanted to go in.

We went to the doctor and he heard a humming sound in her chest. This can be explained as normal blood flow sound, some people have it, and it's not serious. But to be on the safe side we're increasing her Diuril because her eyes and face have been puffy lately and also because of this humming. Then we'll go see him in six weeks and get some bloodwork done in 4.5 weeks to make sure everything is fine. I am really happy with this doctor. If this had been the doctor at CHLA she wouldn't have even seen anything wrong because she never in the year and a half we saw her did she order a blood test for Kaylee. It's the only way he really could be sure that the humming probably wasn't related to water retention because her blood work was normal. But it doesn't hurt to up the dose a bit and see if that fixes at the very least the puffy issue.

On the Potty Training front things have gone great today. She woke up in the morning dry and went to the bathroom right away. Then we headed out to the doctor and she stayed dry in her undies the entire time. We got home and she ran in to the bathroom and went potty. Then later she told me, "Mommy I have to go to the bathroom!" and ran in and went number two. Then she took a nap and stayed dry the entire time and got up and went potty. She hasn't yet gone to the bathroom since but she typically goes two to three hours between trips to the bathroom.

In local news it was approved that oil drilling can be done in SB again. Good for them. It should bring in some money. Some people are against it because of the environment. These are the same people that vote down taxes. So we have to get it somewhere and oil drilling it is and more power to them. I wish they could legalize Weed as well, not that I use it or think it should be, but frankly if it's no worse than alcohol why not get some money from it?

Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday I'm going to spend my workout pushing it because I have a wedding to go to and although I have no one to really impress by looking good I'd like to drop a few pounds so I can be comfortable with what I'm wearing. I mean it fit me when I was 10lbs heavier so obviously I'm not worried about that, but I don't mind looking a bit smaller in it. I'll have to figure out how to do my hair though. I also have to find the invitation. I wonder if we'll have to pay for parking? Hmmm.

Also seriously President Obama was not wearing "mom jeans" at that game. I'm not sure what people are making a fuss about.
