Tracking The Food

So I decided to track what we eat to see how much money we save each day by eating in. Also I'll put how many calories I'm taking in as well.

Kaylee for Breakfast had a Yogurt drink: $0.66 per drink.

Lunch:

4 chicken nuggets for Kaylee: $1.33 for all four.

4 cookies for Kaylee: $0.40 for all four

1 Bologna and cheese sandwich: $2.00 for the sandwich

1 String Cheese: $0.50

1 glass of juice: $0.50

1 milk box for Kaylee: $0.66

Dinner:

Pork Chops: $3 for 2 4oz pieces

Rice: $1.49 a box

Total cost for food: About $15 giving me some extra for things I may have forgotten today like the popcorn or an extra milk box for Kaylee. Two meals from Jack in the Box are $11.87. I managed to spend only $15 for a full days food.

Calories (goal - 1,890 - 2,240):

Lunch - 742 calories

Snack - 120 calories

Dinner - 769 calories

Total - 1601 calories

I don't come anywhere near the goal range. I'm not sure how the goal range was calculated but that's what they say I should be between. I also did some muscle stuff. Tomorrow is my first workout.

It’s time for CHANGE!

No not to this site. I don't have the patience to do that and I can't find any pretty themes to use anyhow. It's time for a change in my life. Starting Wednesday I'll be heading to the gym again. I think I'm going to set smaller goals this time around. Maybe no weight loss goals, just fitness goals like being able to do a certain amount in a workout and build my way up.

Starting Wednesday I'm going to officially cut out the fast food. First off it's not cheaper. Think, I made tri-tip and Mac&Cheese for dinner. The cost of the tri-tip from Costco was 3.81 per piece which I cut in half and I get the smaller half, Brian gets the bigger half. The cost of a box of Mac&Cheese from Costco is 66 cents per box! That's a total of about 4.50 for a family of three.

Seriously when you go to Jack in the Box or McDonalds it's 4.50 for one kids meal. The idea that fast food is cheaper is weird because especially when you buy in bulk and freeze and store food it's actually cheaper to make your own food. Yeah fast food is "fast" but it's expensive and bad for you.

For instance a Ultimate Cheese Burger and Large Curly Fries is 2190 calories! That's like what 1000 over the daily maximum recommended. Insane! Mac&Cheese and Tri-Tip is 477 calories. Imagine how easy it is to burn that off? Jogging for 30 minutes burns about 900 calories (this can be different person to person and workout to workout of course). So you've burned off you dinner for sure and probably your lunch as well just by doing 30 minutes of jogging.

Now I'm not someone who likes to track this crap to be honest with you. But I'll use SparkPeople and go ahead and track what I eat verses how much I work out. If I get pregnant the goal is to not gain weight at all. If I don't get pregnant this month I'll go ahead and set up my goal to lose probably about 60lbs (I'll talk to the trainer dude on Wednesday and see if this is reasonable amount) in the next year. Of course should I get pregnant the goal will have to change but if I work out during pregnancy it will not only help with weight gain but also help in child birth and losing weight afterwards.

So not only is it healthier to buy food even stuff that may not be as healthy, at the store but it's cheaper.

So that's my goal and hopefully by getting support from Brian and from my sister who I'll be working out with, I'll manage to do it. I need to lose well over 100lbs to be honest but even just losing 60 will be a good starting point. We'll see.
