Well this book certainly wasn't any better than the rest. I was pleased with the lack of description of Edward in this book. I mean there was some but not nearly as much as the last two so that made the book more bearable to read. Oh another good part was Bella seemed to not be as obsessed, but maybe that's because she knew he was her's so she didn't need to be that stupid ass obsessed girl anymore. Who knows?
So we start off preparing for the wedding which of course Bella totally doesn't want to happen. What a selfish bitch I say. I mean here is a whole family preparing for a joyous day and all she can do is bitch and moan. She's more interested in the honeymoon though. So we finally get through that horrid thing of a wedding, and then Jacob acting like a complete fool, and get to the honeymoon part.
Now frankly I know this is a young adult book, so vivid description of sex wasn't going to happen, but seriously woman, I want to know what dangerous vampire sex is! But nope, not in this book. The most annoying part was the progression of the pregnancy. If Stephanie didn't explain this excelerated pregnancy I was going to be pissed. Because it would have shown a severe lack of understanding of pregnancy by the author. Luckily it's explained away. I mean it's never fully explained, because this doesn't happen often, but it's speculated upon.
Finally the baby is born, and Bella is now a vampire. So we get to go through all this crap, her learning to do stuff, wild passionate sex, telling her father, etc. Boring as hell. I mean seriously this book has little to no action. Someone was explaining what lacks in the whole series, a plot. No, just kidding. It lacks any real plot curve. You don't go up, there's nothing to really pull you through unless you're some obsessed fan or someone like me who can't not finish a book series (believe me I would have stopped after book number one if I had any will).
I mean even when it comes to the "action" scenes it's a total let down. No action. Nothing. Just, "OH MY WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" And then "Oh guess not, so sorry, see you later."
I'm going to hazard to guess the next book series will focus on Jacob and Nessie. Now that might be interesting if it was written by someone other than Stephanie. We'll see.
In short this book isn't really worth the read unless you have a compulsive need to finish a book series no matter how bad it is. Some say I hold this book series up to a really high standard and perhaps I do, being unable to escape into a teenager mindset. But it was frankly, just poorly written. I think this had real potential to be a great series, so many things could have been done differently. Sadly it wasn't. Oh well. At least I didn't waste any money buying the book. LOL!
So what's next on my list? I'm already a month ahead but I'll just add books as they come up or people alert me to them. If you have any reading suggestions let me know.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
This one hopefully is good. My mom said she read it and liked it. I've heard mixed reviews but books tend to be more in the eye of the beholder kind of things. Something I may love, you may hate, and so forth.
