Ramblings of a Stay at Home Mom!

Brought Back Memories…

So I read this over at the Customer is Not Always Right:

Customer: *with child in tow* “Excuse me, do you work here?”

Me: “Yes, can I help you find something?”

Customer: “There’s no one in your children’s department.”

Me: “Ma’am?”

Customer: “There’s usually one of you people in the kids’ department.”

Me: “Yes…our lead Children’s Zoning person called out today…”

Customer: “Well then, just who is supposed to watch the children?”

Me: “I’m sorry, ma’am, what do you mean?”

Customer: “Who’s going to watch the children? I leave my little girl over there while I shop, and I expect someone to watch her.”

Me: “…”

Customer: In your children’s department. The DAYCARE.”

Me: “Ma’am…we don’t have a daycare…”

Customer: “…” *walks away*

When I worked at Wal-Mart in the toy section you can’t believe how many parents did this. The problem is a lot of the time I didn’t realize the parents were doing this. I would be doing my normal stuff. Helping customers, putting things back in their places. I rarely paid attention to the lone kids in the area. Often times you’d find a kid ripping up a book or coloring in a coloring book. I once had to tell a child that it wasn’t right to do that and then had to find his parent for him. I mean seriously leaving your kids in the toy section? You’ve got to be kidding me. Kids first rarely stay where you put them and what happens if that one day there is someone who is bad and takes your child. Store associates aren’t babysitters.

First off… love the name of your blog!!
Second about the post… OMG!! That is too funny. I can just imagine walking up to the person in the kids department and handing them my one year old and walking away… oh people…
