Ramblings of a Stay at Home Mom!

She was lonely…

The women that had 8 babies out here recently is just plain fucked up. She has “only child syndrome” blaming her mother for not having more kids and thus coming to the conclusion that she must have a big family to make up for it. She has 6 children at home already, one reportedly has autism, she’s in school still (a professional student) and no form of income at all. Her father works but they’re struggling as it is and have already filed bankrupcy already. This woman was on SSI up until recently for a “back” injury which doesn’t allow her to stand for long times or lift things over 10lbs.

“I know I’ll be able to afford them when I’m done with my schooling,” the 33-year-old single mom replied.

Here’s a concept. Why not wait until you finished school and had a good career before adding to your family? I guess this didn’t run through her mind at all.

“All I wanted was children. I wanted to be a mom. That’s all I ever wanted in my life. I love my children,” she told Curry.

That’s all I ever wanted but you don’t see me running around with 14 children now do you?

“The hospital bill alone will run $1.5 to $3 million. Forget about getting to college; just to get through special-needs stuff — it’s going to have to come from somewhere, either the taxpayers of California or her family or her church or the hospital. But she can’t do it alone.”

And this is what I think she failed to recognize. Who’s paying for her children’s needs? Who’s paying for the hospital bill? If she’s unemployed and her parents aren’t making millions then what the hell is she going to do. She’s banking on donations or some sort of TV deal. And sadly enough there have been offers for TV shows and interviews. Just what this woman wanted. And now of course maybe this is best because these children need the money to be cared for.

“Undoubtedly these eight children are going to have issues: at the minimum, the issue of neglect,” Saltz told Lauer.

This I’m not so sure about. I mean 14 is a lot of children but maybe they will be loved enough. Although I’ve always said the Duggar’s are abusing their children by having 18 of them because there’s no way they can spend the appropriate amount of time with the children and I hate that the older children are buddied up with a younger child. I think it’s abuse to not let kids have their childhood. Who knows what this mother will do though.

“When you don’t have a connection in childhood, you go see a therapist,” she added. “You don’t have 14 babies.”

AMEN!

While it hasn’t been revealed which doctor implanted eight embryos at once into Suleman, the octuplets’ birth has sparked an ethical debate in the medical community.

Dr. David Adamson, former president of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, said he was bracing for some backlash against his specialty.

In 30 years of practice, “I have never provided fertility treatment to a woman with six children,” or ever heard of a similar case, said Adamson, director of Fertility Physicians of Northern California.

This is what really interests me. What doctor would do this? To me it comes back to the greed of people in this nation. The greed of this doctor to first not recognize this woman’s emotional problems and second to implant six embryos into this woman when she had six other children at home. I mean everyone has a right to have children but isn’t it the doctor’s responsibility to make sure that the children he is making possible get the best possible care?

Anyhow a lot of people say this is none of anyones business but I think it’s important to highlight some of the ethically wrong behavior of this event.
