So as you know Kaylee has hives. We headed to the doctor’s yesterday and the doctor said it’s Hives and that they’ll get worse before better. Not a problem. I have some cream to help with the itching and Benadryl which will help with any itchiness if she has that. It’s been suggested though that perhaps this isn’t just simple Hives but rather Roseola. I am not sure. None of the pictures match what she has and the doctor didn’t even mention this possibility. If it is Roseola there’s nothing we can do anyhow. It is what it is.
The symptoms don’t match though. Kaylee’s fever broke on Sunday night. The hives showed up yesterday. That doesn’t fit how Roseola works at all. She only had a fever for one day. Roseola kids have it for several days. Either way though for those who may be reading who are afraid that since we were out on Wednesday that they were exposed, it’s not contagious when children are showing symptoms. It’s contagious when they’re not showing symptoms before it even starts, meaning that since Kaylee’s sickness started on Friday, Jan. 31st it would have been contanigious unknown to me for the week before that. And seeing as no one else in the group has had this in the past month, I doubt that it’s Roseola because where else would she have been exposed to it?
Here are a few pictures to look at:
