I wanted to go through my list of 2008 movies I saw this year and give you a run down of whether I thought they were good or not. I didn’t see all of these in the theatre, some I saw on DVD.
1. The Pirates Who Don’t Know Anything: Veggie Tales – Saw this during the summer when Regal has their free movies for the kids. I thought it was hilarious, Kaylee didn’t really like it but she’s 2 so she probably wouldn’t anyhow. It’s a Veggie Tales movie so it has a message of course as well.
2. Cloverfield – Loved this movie. I mean yeah the camera work could make you sick but it was really good. I especially enjoyed the ending because it’s not a fairy tale ending.
3. Untraceable – Saw this one on DVD and I thought it was good. I like these types of movies of course. Some of the “technology” was used improperly but what can you do? I especially like that some main characters die in the movie as well.
4. The Eye – Saw this one on DVD and I personally liked it. I mean it’s not exactly realistic but it was pretty cool, at least it wasn’t a waste to watch.
5. The Spiderwick Chronicles – I really liked this movie. It was just plain cool and I think had a great storyline. Well worth the see.
6. Black Water – Saw this one on DVD and it was so bad that I didn’t even finish it.
7. Vantage Point - I really liked this one and the way it was set up with I believe five different story lines. I loved the twists and the story line in general. Very cool.
8. The Other Boleyn Girl – Saw this one on DVD and I’ve watched it several times, might even through it in again. I loved it. I love anything about that era in general and it’s just a great movie.
9. The Life Before Her Eyes – Saw this one on DVD and I have to say I love stories like this, when things are not as they seem. In the end it was pretty sad but a great story.
10. Baby Mama – Plain hilarious! Some people were offended by it but frankly it’s a comedy and it was just freaking funny.
11. Iron Man – Great movie. Seen it several times. I love the effects, I think the story was pretty good and what’s better than a hero revealing himself at the end.
12. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – Good movie although I sat most of the time wondering when the darn Lion would show up. It was a bit long though.
13. The Happening – HORRIBLE MOVIE! I mean it had potential to be good but the ending made it the crappiest movie of all time in my opinion.
14. Get Smart – This movie was hilarious. Anything with Steve C. tends to be freaking funny and this was as well.
15. Wall-E – I wasn’t impressed with this movie to be honest. It’s liberal crap about the environment and how we’re becoming a lazy society. Frankly I don’t understand why a kids movie would have that sort of message in it.
16. Wanted – Great movie all around. Great story line, great effects, great actors.
17. Hancock – This movie was good and I know people hated it for whatever reason but I liked it. I do think the end could have used some work but that wasn’t enough to ruin it.
18. Journey to the Center of the Earth – Saw this one on DVD and I thought it was okay. It was funny at parts and pretty cool on the effects side. I enjoyed it.
19. Dark Knight – Saw this one three times in the theatre. Not only is it a great movie but it has great actors. I can say that Heath as the Joker was the best role that man ever did. I will have to say I hate Batman’s voice. He needs a cough drop.
20. The X-Files: I Want to Believe – This was a glorified X-Files episode that didn’t have any of the X-Files things that the series was known for.
21. Beverly Hill Chihuahua - This one was funny in that it’s always funny to watch dogs run around acting like morons.
22. Bolt – Hilarious movie and Kaylee loved it too. Makes you want to go out and buy a Hamster and put it in a ball.
So those are the movies of this year that I saw. We might be going out to see The Day The Earth Stood Still today so I’ll update this post if it happens.
