Because I Should Care! Everything you wanted to know and even more!

I hate, seriously hate!

So last term I took my Capstone course and I used the proper citations within that paper. I received a 400/400 on the paper. Perfect score for the supposedly hardest course you'll take for your degree. I got a 998/1000 in said course as well.

Now I'm in another course, a lower level course that I wasn't able to take until this term. I turned in a paper, followed the same citations I used for my Capstone, the common citations used within every course for Kaplan and it came back with 198/200 because I supposedly did my citations wrong. Seriously. How is it I can get a perfect score in the hardest class for the degree yet supposedly I did my citations all wrong?

I want consistency in courses. I want them to all have to take a class on citations not follow some stupid manual that they get sent. And if they're going to follow some stupid manual make sure that those teaching the Capstone are using it. I'm assuming the person teaching the Capstone knew more than the professor teaching the lower level.

It's just annoying to say the least because I had a perfect grade. It's like teachers don't like seeing perfect grades or something.

On a side note I'm hating my stupid career development class. I'm not returning to work. I don't need to know how to write a stupid resume, I've done that for ten years now. I don't need to know how to network, been there, done that. I don't need to learn how to search for a job and know my skills, seriously in this day and age who doesn't know how to do that crap? What a waste of time and money.

Holy Thunder Moly!

So last night was eventful. First Kaylee refused to go to sleep in her bed so I had to transfer her into her own bed at around 1am. Then at like 3am you'd swear we had like several earthquakes. But rather it was Thunder and it was insane. It's like at least two bolts of lighting hit right outside our hotel and it shoke so hard that the walls rattled and things fell over! Insane and pretty cool. Then it sounded like hail but I know it wasn't hail. Pretty wild weather. Not sure when it's going to go away though since it's still apparently pretty bad in Cali.

We are considered Upper Middle Class…

We barely make it into the First Time Homebuyers national program because Brian apparently makes a lot of money. Funny thing if he made just 10K more the state and city of Simi Valley would consider us Upper Class and thus not qualify for anything.  I don't get it. We've paid off most of our bad debt yet we still can barely afford a loan which will be for a crap ass house. So we have to go lower and hope there are even crappier homes out there. Luckily we will have some money for upgrading and fixing things, but seriously who knew being nearly rich meant we could get so little.

On a side note the interest rate on the loan will be 5.78%. Not bad at all.

Them are fighting words part 2…

I read the whole “Autism Shmautism” chapter from Leary’s book. The uproar was justified and the “quote taken out of context” defense doesn’t hold up. Leary is a ranting idiot who doesn’t know anything about autism. He doesn’t actually prove normal children are being diagnosed as autistic. He just calls them idiots.

Above is a quote from our friend Emmanuel, don't know him and somehow he found my blog which is always fun because I can always use more hits. =-)

So lets say Em actually read the whole chapter, although frankly you should read the whole book because there's a broader point, but hey whatever. And lets say Leary is saying what everyone thinks he's saying.

My question is: SO WHAT?

Lets look at Leary's qualifications as a person to write these things out: He's a comedian and a actor. That's about it. So why are we getting so worked up over his words?

If you head over to Em's blog he says in his last sentence he hopes the book tanks. Guess what people your uproar is just causing more books to be sold. Those who are "boycotting" wouldn't have bought his book in the first place, and now those who wouldn't have thought to buy it are curious to see what the hubbub is about.

Also I want to know why some in the Autistic community are so pissed at Leary for his opinions but have no problem when a fellow comedian/actress writes book after book on her ability to supposedly cure Autism? Huh? She's just as damaging if not more because she's spreading lies and myths about the disorder, how it's caused and links between vax's and so forth that aren't even medically proven. But she's some sort of beacon of the Autistic community because her son has it. Well guess what people, she's just as bad if not worse but I don't see anyone speaking out about her.

So the only thing that gives someone a right to have an opinion is to be directly related in some manner to an Autistic child? The logic is that because my daughter has a disorder I have a right to make asumptions without any medical proof or training and people should support me.
